William B. Allen

W.B. Allen is Professor Emeritus of Political Science, with teaching and research interests in: political philosophy, American government, and jurisprudence at Michigan State University. He has recently served in the Department as Interim Director, Program in Public Policy and Administration and chairs in the University Working Group for the Improvement of Undergraduate Education. He is also a Fulbright Senior Fellow. Allen's work has been published extensively, including George Washington: A Collection (Liberty Press), George Washington: America’s First Progressive (Peter Lang, Inc.), and Re-Thinking Uncle Tom: The Political Philosophy of H. B. Stowe. Allen previously served on the National Council for the Humanities and as chairman and as a member of the United States Commission on Civil Rights.
