Kristen Collins

Kristen Collins is a political theorist and Senior Fellow at the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Collins is also the host of host Virtual Sentiments, a podcast featuring conversations with scholars and practitioners reflecting on the ethics and politics of technology, and is an Adjunct Lecturer at the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University, teaching "Communication for Data Science" and "Data Ethics." Collins' research revolves around the history of political and economic thought, the ethics and politics of technology, feminist theory, and more. Collins' research and book reviews have been published in scholarly journals such as Political Theory, the American Journal of Political Science, and The Review of Austrian Economics. Collins co-edited the book, Market Process and Market Order: From Human Action, But Not of Human Design. Collins is currently working on a book manuscript, Seeing and Being Seen: Spectatorship and Surveillance in Liberal Democracies. Collins earned a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University, where she minored in Film Studies and Russian Language, and a Ph.D. from Georgetown University's Department of Government.
