Matt Bufton
Institute for Liberal Studies
Matt Bufton is the Co-founder of the Institute for Liberal Studies, where he has served as the Executive Director since 2010. Mr. Bufton holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing the University of Windsor's Odette School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts, Political Science also from the University of Windsor. Mr. Bufton has also received human studies fellowships in 2008-2009 and 2009-2010, and conducted graduate studies in political science and public policy from the University of Windsor and the University of Michigan-Dearborn, respectively. Before his time with the Institute for Liberal Studies, Mr. Bufton worked as a Marketing Coordinator for Compu-Quote Inc. and a Project Manager for Cypher Systems Group. Bufton is a graduate both the Atlas Network’s MBA for Think Tank Management and its Think Tank Leadership Academy. Mr. Bufton has spoken at several conferences in both Canada and the United States, and has written for public policy websites on a variety of topics such as non-profit management, and the role of government in society. From 2012-2016 Bufton served as a member of the the board of directors of Civitas.
