Janet Bufton

Janet Bufton is the Co-founder of the Institute for Liberal Studies, where she serves as the Developer and Manager of Liberal Studies Guides Project for highschool teachers. Ms. Bufton also works as a copy editor in Ottawa, Ontario and is and editing and educational consultant for AdamSmithWorks. Ms. Bufton works primarily on projects involving Adam Smith, trade and regulatory policy, and Indigenous and labour market economics. She holds a B.Comm. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Honours Economics from the University of Windsor, as well as an M.A. in International Affairs from the Norman Paterson school of International Affairs at Carleton University, where her studies focused on trade and economic development. Ms. Bufton co-founded the Institute for Liberal Studies in 2006 and became a program coordinator in 2013. Ms. Bufton is a graduate of both the Atlas Network's MBA for Think Tank Management Program and Think Tank Leadership Academy, and developed programming for the Foundation for Economic Education's 2014 Big Ideas Live! webinar series. She is an occasional author and speaker and is one-half of the SmithTweeters behind the #WealthOfTweets project.
